Both the House and Senate are not in session this week.

The Senate will convene today at 1:00 P.M. for a pro forma session as well as on Thursday, January 27th at 10:00 A.M.  When the Senate adjourns on Thursday, it will next convene at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, January 31st and will proceed to Executive Session to resume consideration of the nomination of Bridget Meehan Brennan to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Ohio.

The House will reconvene on Tuesday, February 1st at 6:30 P.M.

As the House adjourned last week, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) circulated a Dear Colleague outlining the legislative agenda for February.  Items of note include passing a strong omnibus prior to February 18th, a competitiveness bill to supercharge investment in chips, strengthen our supply chain and transform our research capacity, legislation relating to Ukraine that authorizes robust sanctions on Russian government officials and financial institutions and transactions; increases Foreign Military Financing and IMET funding for Ukraine; and expands funding for Radio Free Europe and Radio Liberty and also passing the Honoring Our PACT Act which is bipartisan legislation to ensure that veterans exposed to toxic substances get the care and benefits they have earned.

Washington, D.C. Daily Update will resume publication on Tuesday, February 1st, when the House and Senate reconvene.
