While the House continues to negotiate on a path forward for the budget resolution, the Senate will again spend much of today processing nominations, and is expected to vote on confirmation of Executive Calendar #67 Mike Huckabee, of Arkansas, to be Ambassador to the State of Israel, confirmation of Executive Calendar #55 Peter Hoekstra, of Michigan, to be Ambassador to Canada, confirmation of Executive Calendar #68 Ronald Johnson, of Florida, to be Ambassador to the United Mexican States, confirmation of Executive Calendar #66 Kevin Cabrera, of Florida, to be Ambassador to the Republic of Panama and confirmation of Executive Calendar #61 Paul Atkins, of Virginia, to be a Member of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The Senate is also expected to take up the Motion to proceed to Cal. #17, H.J.Res. 20 – Providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Department of Energy relating to “Energy Conservation Program: Energy Conservation Standards for Consumer Gas-fired Instantaneous Water Heaters.”
The House may take up H. Res. __ – Providing for consideration of the Senate Amendment to H. Con. Res. 14, Establishing the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034. Following that, the House will consider the following, pursuant to a Rule: S.J. Res. 28 – A joint resolution disapproving the rule submitted by the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection relating to “Defining Larger Participants of a Market for General-Use Digital Consumer Payment Applications,” S.J. Res. 18 – A joint resolution disapproving the rule submitted by the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection relating to “Overdraft Lending: Very Large Financial Institutions” and Senate Amendment to H. Con. Res. 14 – Establishing the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
The House may also complete consideration of H.R. 1526 – No Rogue Rulings Act.
