While the House remains in recess today, the Senate convened at 10:00 A.M. and will take up confirmation of the nomination of Stephanie Sanders Sullivan to be Representative to the African Union, with the rank and status of Ambassador as well as the Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Nancy L. Maldonado to be United States Circuit Judge for the Seventh Circuit.  Maldonado got a few Republican votes when she was confirmed as a district court judge in 2022, so is expected to be confirmed, although it’s possible that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-New York) may need to cancel the vote today if more Republicans are present than Democrats.  The Senate is expected to have somewhat limited attendance today as it was in recess for Juneteeth yesterday and is not in session tomorrow.

The House will reconvene on Tuesday, June 25th at 6:30 P.M. for votes.
