The Senate adjourned last night for a 19 day recess until July 13th after Majority Leader John Thune (R-South Dakota) held a vote to adjourn after a contentious day on the Hill, in which President Donald J. Trump bucked his plans to sign a bipartisan housing affordability bill in order to demand Senate action on the SAVE America Act.
Before wrapping up the week, the House will take up H. Res. 1377 – Providing for consideration of H.R. 1181, Protecting Privacy in Purchases Act, H.R. 9022, Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2027, H.R. 8595, National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2027, and H.R. 9237, Take Care of America’s Veterans Act.
The Senate is next scheduled to be in session on Monday, July 13th and will take up Confirmation of Executive Calendar #778 Arthur Roberts Jones, of Texas, to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Texas.
